The Celtic Connections Festival

David has just returned from Glasgow after attending the UKs largest annual winter music festival of its kind, the Celtic Connections festival. It's a premier celebration of Celtic music, hosting over 2,100 artists across 300 events.
The Showcase Scotland trade fair sits nicely in the middle of this festival and David, amongst other Manx delegates, represented the fine music that the Isle of Man currently has to offer.
Russell Gilmour and David Kilgallon's current musical exploration into the Chronicles of Mann raised particular interest, and their musical project, ‘Chronicles’ attracted many representatives from the likes of Celtic Colours Festival, the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Luckily, there was also opportunity to catch some of top quality performances at the festival this year, as well as a few late night traditional sessions. Yes, he was playing the fiddle but we won’t hold it against him.
